“Design is a creative practice that shapes the future.”

The Department of Industrial Design at Kyung Hee University cultivates future-oriented designers who can actively respond to a rapidly changing social and technological environment through interdisciplinary design education that transcends the boundaries of technology, humanities, and the arts

Our department explores the fundamental values of design and pursues design education that realizes social value based on human-centered thinking in the era of digital transformation. Moving beyond form and style, we focus on enhancing the quality of life and envisioning a sustainable future through design.

The curriculum covers a wide range of design fields, including product design, spatial design, mobility, UX, and service design. It is structured to foster creativity and practical problem-solving skills through hands-on, real-world projects. Through this process, students develop integrated thinking and expressive abilities grounded in both theoretical knowledge and field-based experience. In addition, students gain an understanding of artificial intelligence and digital technologies and learn to integrate them into design to create new user experiences and social value.

We believe that design is not merely the creation of form, but a responsible practice grounded in deep insight into society and the times we live in. Design at Kyung Hee University aims to create harmony in future society and to realize public value and sustainability through thoughtful and integrative design.
